Historical listing only. Names on this page come from older tourism directories for Mount Barker and the Porongurup. Current operators, hours, and cellar-door details are unverified — confirm with official sources before you travel.

Kendenup is a small locality north of Mount Barker along the Albany Highway corridor. Wine Australia’s Mount Barker GI description uses the township as a landmark on the northern side of the mapped sub-region. The Shire of Plantagenet lists a nature-based camp ground at the Agricultural/Sports Grounds on Beverley Road, operated by the Kendenup Community Grounds Committee.

That is the citeable present. The rest of the old /kendenup.html file, and the related /kendcot.html cottages path, were directory entries for lodges and stays. Those names are not restored as bookings. If you want to camp or stay in Kendenup, confirm the committee camp ground or a current operator yourself.

Use Kendenup as a quiet base when Mount Barker town feels too much like a highway and Porongurup feels too much like a destination. You will drive for almost everything else. See accommodation and around town.
